PRESS RELEASE: Corporate Rowers step up for Youth at Risk and raise $7,000! Victoria, BC
June 16, 2011
VICTORIA, June 16, 2011… On Saturday, June 4, companies throughout the Lower Vancouver Island participated in the Championship Regatta of the 18th Annual Community Corporate Rowing Challenge & Pledge Drive (CCRC) at the Gorge Rowing and Paddling Centre.  With beautiful sunny weather conditions, it was a great day for corporate crews to race each other and support an important cause.

In addition to great racing, the corporate rowing teams raised $7,000 to benefit Dynamic Opportunities for Youth - This national youth rowing/paddling support initiative, developed by Go Rowing and Paddling Association of Canada (GO), is designed to make the benefits of sport accessible to youth at risk. To date $7,000 has been raised for the 2011 pledge drive! Our five-year fundraising total is now $82,000, which means the event, to date, has raised enough money to support over 500 youth through Dynamic Opportunities for Youth! Thank you to the rowers, sponsors and supporters for this tremendous and needed support!
