The Gorge Crabfest is the first event of the LVISSA High School Rowing League, giving new and experienced rowers a racing experience and a feel for the competition for the rest of the season. The LVISSA High School Rowing League attracts up to 500 participants per year and is one of the largest participated High School sports in the Lower Vancouver Island.
