The Wave Grabber races can be done in a kayak, surf-ski, canoe, outrigger and paddle board, and is as casual or competitive as you want to be. For the 1st race, paddlers had the option of a 2km course or a 4km course on the Gorge Waterway. After racing, participants celebrated and socialized on the docks of GRPC and enjoyed a BBQ and prizes.

MEC & GRPC have started the MEC Wave Grabber Race Series, a five race series, to promote recreational paddling in the community, and invite any and all types of paddlers to attend. Races are $10.00 to participate in and free to attend. We welcome anyone who’s interested to come down and participate or cheer the paddlers on!
