The Dragon Boat event has raised approximately $ 78,158 for the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation, since it began in 2003.  Last year Nanaimo Paddling Centre Dragon Boat teams raised $ 10,966.61 with the City of Nanaimo team, the Nanaimo Wave Babes our top fundraisers.  Anyone can make a donation to a team by  at https://www.nanaimohospitalfoundation.com/SSLPage.aspx?pid=480.  All donations will go toward breast cancer technology at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

The Valhalla Pure Outfitters Nanaimo Paddlefest and Pledge Drive is also an opportunity for local teams to practice and fine tune their racing skills for the upcoming Save On Foods Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival (July 8-10) where competition is sure to be tight. Please come out and cheer on Nanaimo teams as they paddle 500 meters races in our beautiful harbour and help fight breast cancer.
